Monkeys and the Temple

Thursday, April 25, 2024; Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil:

Olá a todos!

Esta semana, tivemos pday na quinta-feira. Fomos para o Templo de Manaus. Também eu vi Macacos em minha ala aqui, que fica dentra da cidade. Então... Uma semana boa!

All the missionaries in Manaus went to the temple again; I don't yet have any photos. That's why p-day is late this week.

This week it rained pretty hard-Literally every day. That, combined with my companion getting sick, led to us staying home for several days.

One of the days we passed through the big park next to our house. I had passed through another time, but this time was much better. We saw this huge fake tree, with enormous animal sculptures around and on top of it. It was so big I couldn't get a good photo. Then, two different times as we were walking, we stopped and watched some tiny monkeys swing through the trees. I got a video but it's such bad quality that I won't even try showing it to y'all. But the crazy part is that I live in the city part, so literally the monkeys were in this park that's surrounded by big roads. It's a big park but... Definitely cool to see the Monkeys.

This week I want to say a little about 'the small things'. 'The small things' has two parts - Actions, and Miracles. The small things are important in every way. The small Actions -Things like prayer, reading scriptures, loving others, small and simple actions to fulfill God's commandments, those are things we must do to see and have more miracles from God. And the Miracles - We always have small and simple Miracles. They can be as simple as the structure of the universe, life, our planet. Anything small, that shows us God's hand. That builds our faith and gives us hope.

God loves each one of us. He will bless us. But also, we need to seek His blessings. We need to do our small and simple actions, for Him to do and show His small and simple Miracles (or bigger ones!) to us. But also, we must look for the small miracles to see them.

So that's the weekly invitation. Do the small and simple things and look for the Miracles. Have gratitude for the miracles.

Love y'all,

Tchau!

-Haircut

-Big piece of art, no it's not all stone. Some of the things are metal, or metal frames with some kind of canvas or other thing around them. Honestly idk.
-Snake and birds around the big tree
-Fake monkey around the tree to represent the real monkeys I saw
