Transfers

Monday, December 2, 2024; Floresta Ward, Rio Branco, Acre, Brazil:

Bem vindos a todos! Tudo bem com vocês?

Hey y'all, this email will be short.

But this past week has been pretty good, as always life has its ups and downs.

We received our transfers' news, I will be leaving my current area, city, and state. I will be going to a city called Iranduba close to Manaus. But unlike all my past areas, my new area will not have tons of missionaries in the city. It will just be my companion and I! The city is on the river itself, so maybe I will see more of the Amazon River. 😁

Last week I mentioned about my comp and me being humbled by him... that continued this week. I let him decide what we did for a day and thought it wouldn't go too well.... it was a pretty good day. It worked out in ways I hadn't calculated. 😂

But this week was Thanksgiving. I didn't really celebrate it, as in no super big and Fancy meals, no Turkey, no mashed potatoes... but it was still pretty good. I did, however, think about gratitude.

Gratitude, just like many things in life, and many things commanded by God, needs a decent amount of time. If you never stop to think, you won't be grateful for só many of the small and simple blessings that you receive daily. Praying includes stopping all else and focusing on God, on talking to Him. Reading Scriptures is all about studying and reflecting and applying the things you learn in your own life. In this world so full of distractions, you can see where your priorities lie, what is important, based on the time you spend doing things. Do you really love your family if you never spend time with them? What is God to you if you never give Him time, except to curse or blame Him for that one problem that happens in your life?

So how can we be more grateful? And also, how can we more fully dedicate ourselves to following God? The first step might be giving more time to being grateful to reflection. And give more time to God.

That's my invitation for each of you!

With love,
